We looked at the online albums and a little of the online video for a Pure Land temple in rural west Japan called Daihou-ji (Jodo sect). It is sometimes compared to Protestant Christianity for its emphasis on the saving role of the divine; that is, one cannot depend on one's own merit for reaching paradise. Instead one must call for and accept this gift.
